Team Rubicon Providing Aid in Texas and Florida
Team Rubicon unites the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy emergency response teams. They are currently working in Texas and are already in position in Florida. This is a great group to join and support.
Hope for the Warrior
Nationally, Hope For The Warriors provides comprehensive support programs for service members, veterans, and military families that are focused on transition, health and wellness, peer engagement, and connections to community resources. The military service organization has scheduled a series of weekly Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Suicide Prevention training sessions via live webinars every Tuesday during September. This training educates the community on how to properly talk about suicide and mental health to lessen the stigma, recognize the signs of suicide, and how to take action when someone exhibits those signs.
Hope For The Warriors’ Vicki Lane LCSW/LICSW, a certified trainer by the QPR Institute, will lead the free sessions via a ZOOM meeting link on September 12, 19 and 26. Here is the link to register for the training
And Dennis Powers, an honorably discharged Marine who served in Vietnam in 1963-64. His duties, much of which is still classified, included tracking the “Shadow Government” in South Vietnam, tracking the arms/supplies/training/personnel coming into North Vietnam from Russia and China. And his walking point.
