3/10/12 Veteran Troubadours.
Lem Genovese—Veteran Tunesmith. His sense of perspective towards his craft of songwriting has been honed by FOUR decades of composition and some national touring. It includes two plus decades as a retired Army veteran and Iowa National Guard member where he pulled tours of duty in the Mekong Delta of South Vietnam in 1971 and Operation Desert Storm as a combat medic twenty years later in 1991. Michael J. Martin is one of those “tried and true ol’ troubadours”. He lives the songs he writes and sings. His music has some miles on it. For years, he has traveled throughout America, performing at concerts, colleges, clubs, pubs, churches, prisons, military bases, museums, biker bars, hospitals, and honky tonks. Michael J. Martin served 12 months in Vietnam, “in the bush”, mostly as a Pointman, with the 11th Infantry / American Division, class of 1968-69. His citations include: Silver and Bronze Stars, Purple Heart, and Combat Infantryman’s Badge. Michael’s Website:
Sarge Lintecum is a singer, song writer, musician completed three tours of duty in Vietnam, 1966, 1967 and 1968. His first tour was eleven months in the jungle/hospital with the 101st Airborne Paratroopers as a combat infantryman. Sarge received the Purple Heart, the Good Conduct medal, a Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star and 1 Silver Service Star, Parachute Jump Wings, the Combat Infantryman Badge, and many more. Bing West served as Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs in the Reagan administration and is a graduate of Georgetown and Princeton Universities.. He served in the Marine infantry and was a member of the Force Recon team that initiated attacks behind North Vietnamese lines. Bing’s website is
Dwight Zimmerman is the author of Uncommon Valor: The Medal of Honor and the Six Warriors Who Earned It in Afghanistan and Iraq and The Vietnam War. Zimmerman’s most recent book is Saga of the Sioux (Henry Holt, Fall 2011), a young adult adaptation of Dee Brown’s classic history of the American West, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee. It has been acclaimed by critics as “a powerful work” (School Library Journal), and “a masterful adaptation” (VOYA).

3/31/12 Veterans Radio Welcomes Dwight Zimmerman, AT EASE. Veterans Radio is proud to announce the debut on March 31, 2012, of a new monthly radio program: AT EASE. Hosted by award-winning author Dwight Jon Zimmerman and newest member of the Veterans Radio Crew.
Dwight has been a guest on Veterans Radio many times and is now our resident expert on what is new and exciting in the world of Military Writing and Publishing.
Zimmerman’s first guests on AT EASE are two of the “stealth” giants in military publishing, Charles “Chuck” Oldham and John D. Gresham. As Editorial Director for Faircount Media, Oldham oversees all of its military defense, military medicine, veterans affairs and homeland security publications, both in print and online. John D. Gresham is the editor of Faircount’s Special Operations publications. In addition, he is an author, researcher, game designer, photographer, and military commentator with numerous publishing, design, speaking, and television appearance credits in his portfolio. He was the primary researcher and partner to Tom Clancy on his best-selling series of non-fiction “guided tour” books about military units. Oldham and Gresham’s wide range of experience and contacts enable them to have their fingers on the pulse of everything that’s happening in the military today.
Dwight Jon Zimmerman has written extensively on military-history subjects for American Heritage, the Naval Institute Press, Vietnam Magazine, and numerous military-themed publications. Dwight is an award-winning author and producer and now radio host on Veterans Radio. His most recent book is SAGA OF THE SIOUX, the young adult adaptation of Dee Brown’s classic book about the American West, BURY MY HEART AT WOUNDED KNEE.
